Pacific Aquarium
As Southern California's largest aquarium, the Pacific Aquarium showcases best represents the Pacific Ocean's rich diversity. The rebranding improved legibility and memorability and simplified the name to The Pacific Aquarium. The design features fluid shapes and a custom font, evoking the ocean's dynamic nature and reinforcing the aquarium's mission of accessibility, education, and conservation through an adaptable, cohesive visual identity.
Pacific Aquarium Rebranding by Mikayla Gao has been selected as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Pacific Aquarium Rebranding was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2025. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that celebrates superior design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
