Chongqing
Chongqing is a poster series about the city of Chongqing, China. The design combines famous landmarks with hot pot ingredients. Hongya Cave, the Chongqing Grand Theatre and the Yangtze River Ropeway are merged with hot pot bases. A panda is shown bathing in a hot pot, holding bamboo shoots and green onions, which adds a light and humorous tone. The posters are produced by inkjet printing on coated paper. The design is intended for airports and high speed rail stations, where travellers can find destination ideas. The same patterns can also be printed on paper bags.
Chongqing Poster Bag by Yueyang Mao was recognized as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Chongqing Poster Bag was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2022. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which recognizes excellent design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
