The Engravings on Mount Yi
The Engravings on Mount Yi is an experimental typeface design based on the ancient stone inscriptions of Mount Yi. The inscriptions record a standard small seal script used after the writing system of ancient China was unified. The project includes letterform standardization, information visualization, poster design and an augmented reality experience. The work is presented mainly as a website, with printed posters and three-dimensional models. Scanning a code on a poster shows a three-dimensional model of a character. The aim is to present traditional Chinese script in a new and clear way.
