The Oracle
The Oracle is a digital illustration created as concept art for a high fantasy video game. The image shows a scene from a land with a legend that returns once every several centuries. In the legend, messengers from the gods arrive and announce the dawn of a new era. The design joins the form of a monolith with the presence of a great whale to suggest a mighty being. The artwork was hand drawn with a photo bashing method in image editing software and measures 6200 by 3150 pixels. Research into architecture and old customs supports the imagined world.
The Oracle Illustration by Tsutomu Kitazawa has been selected as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. The Oracle Illustration received the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2021. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that recognizes excellent design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
