Breath
Breath is a series of posters created to encourage public health awareness during the COVID-19 pandemic. The posters use positive and negative shapes, combining the side profile of a face with the edge of a mask. The shared outlines suggest a symbiotic relationship between breathing and protection. Further elements such as the sky, the city, the heart and a heartbeat extend the theme to community and unity. The graphics are hand drawn and prepared with image editing software. Each poster measures 700 by 1000 millimetres.
Breath Posters by Na An has been featured as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Breath Posters earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2020. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade which recognizes outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
