HEMA Alliance
HEMA Alliance is a corporate identity created for an association that supports practitioners of Historical European Martial Arts. The identity includes 160 variations of the symbol, formed by 40 sword designs shown in four visual arrangements. Each sword follows the proportions of a real historical model. The letters, the spacing and the symbol diagram are based on the Golden Ratio, which keeps every variation consistent. Each practitioner can select the variation that matches a preferred training style and weapon.
HEMA Alliance Corporate Identity by Pedro Panetto has been highlighted as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Award. HEMA Alliance Corporate Identity earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2020. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which recognizes superior design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
