Interview with Nikita Zhilyakov : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Nikita Zhilyakov : The building itselve was an inspiration: old constuctions, brick walls, dirty windows... The main principle was to save the spirit of a place not disturbing the atmosphere, but at the same time this space had to be comfortable and safe for visitors and had to have newest equipment. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Nikita Zhilyakov : Few month .Frank Scott: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?. Nikita Zhilyakov : Neither .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. Nikita Zhilyakov : History of the building .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. Nikita Zhilyakov : This is a name of all building. Dom pechati means printing warehouse. .Frank Scott: What is the role of technology in this particular design?. Nikita Zhilyakov : We used new technologies in a lot of things: ventilation, heating systems, spetial covering that save old brick walls, metal construcions to reinforce old ones, metal constructions above the stage and hangins of the lights etc. .Frank Scott: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?. Nikita Zhilyakov : No .Frank Scott: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?. Nikita Zhilyakov : I wanted to do that and suddenly I recieved an invitation .
